ST240 : Surgical Procedures - Surgical Techniques IV Lab

Surgery and common surgical procedures within primary surgical specialties are surveyed along with related regional anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Surgical techniques for perioperative case management include basic surgical routines, maintaining the sterile field, circulating skills, handling specimens and medications, surgical counts, second surgical assisting, and other technical functions. Practical skills are sharpened in the mock-surgery setting to prepare students for the clinical setting. Related medical-surgical terminology is integrated throughout the course.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of all courses in the previous term.
